Pupukea, which means “white shell” in the Hawaiian language, is a long and narrow stretch of beach with a rocky shoreline. On each end of Pupukea Beach Park lie two small pocket beaches within the rocks – Shark's Cove and Three Tables.Both are very popular and fantastic dive and snorkeling sites, but mainly in the summer months when the surf is calm. In the winter when the surf is up and dangerous, swimming, snorkeling and diving are often times not possible or recommended.

Lay on the beautiful sand, jump from the rock, or watch the famous big wave surf competition in the winter. Make sure you go early to get a parking spot! otherwise it might be worth the walk from the house if you don't mind a 5-10 minute walk. 

World Famous Pipeline beach is home to annual world surf competitions hosted during winter months (Nov-Feb). If parking is full just park at the house and take a 5 minute stroll down the bike path or walk along the beach to watch the surf. 

Please follow any signs posted for strong currents and do not swim if seas are rough!
